I usually think of Lonesome Dove first, which was his favorite role. I guess that book is getting alot of attention online right now because people are into doorstop pageturners. The book is better but the miniseries is still great, they couldn’t have cast anyone better than Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones (even though the book apparently started out as a screenplay for John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart!) so I hope people are checking out that version too.
