Oh well, I guess he wasn’t doing movies anymore. He had a nice little bit in The Road, that’s the last I saw of him. For whatever reason I think of The Godfather first, though he had better roles elsewhere. I really like when he turned up uncredited in The Conversation as the big bad guy.

Amusingly enough, when he won for Tender Mercies I thought he had beaten Pacino for Scarface, ,then found out Pacino hadn’t even been nominated. (He was up against four UK actors, who were nominated for films you never hear a damn thing about anymore.)
