I’ve never read Vineland but having read the wikipedia summary after seeing OBAA I would say that it’s almost completely different from the book. So not sure if a reread would give you much insight on the movie.

Best picture would depend in its competition I guess, but Sean Penn has the best supporting actor in the bag with this, holy hell he is acting his ass off in this movie.
