Amusingly, it’s by the director of a film version of A Separate Peace, a movie I know nothing about, but the two movie he directed on either side of it were made-for-TV trash that I actually remember, Child of Rage (about a sexually abused little girl) and Christmas Every Day (Is it still a Groundhog Day Ripoff if the character notices it in the movie? I don’t think I saw all of this one).

I continue to be astonished by people reading Dhalgren and Hogg, which sounds even less like a book I’d want to read than Dhalgren, without reading his earlier stuff. I have a bunch of Delaney I want to read and a couple I want to re-read, but you’re not selling me on Hogg.

I still like the Deliverance movie as a thriller.

I’m glad you like Slow Train, although I’m disturbed that you reviewed it without mentioning Mark Knopfler. The title track is my favorite, but Gotta Server Somebody is the one ended up being one of his most played songs. I also really like Man Gave Names to the Animals.

Could the next album turn out to be even better???
