Crispin Glover did his album in 1989, five years after his Friday The 13th appearance and two after his David Letterman “Rubin Farr” debacle, where he debuted a character he would eventually play in a movie without telling anyone. Letterman invited him back on the show twice to make fun of him, and the second time, Glover promoted his album and Letterman made fun of it to his face. I like “Clowny Clown Clown” and “Auto-Manipulator,” his rap metal song about jerking off. Telling people “Crispin Glover did a rap metal song about jerking off in 1989” is pretty fun. I don’t know about Jewish stereotypes but I do know that Rubin Farr is like a predictor of basement dwelling autistic manchild loner weirdos.
I only saw the 1st, 3rd and 4th Friday The 13th movies, plus Freddy Vs. Jason. Of those, the only one I’d be willing to rewatch at all is F vs. J. I don’t care for them much at all; the first one is a boring Halloween knockoff where only the bad acting of Jason’s mom is worth watching, the third is a 3-D disaster that is completely boring, and the fourth is slightly better but still basically mediocre. I will never complete the series (I was already told that the second was a remake of the first, but with Jason instead of Jason’s mom.)
One of the more amusing bits of trivia I know about that series is that the IMDb message board for Warrington Gillette, the guy who played Jason in the second movie, turned into a psycho flame war hate fest for a long time…for…some reason. Look around at places like moviechat.org and you might be able to find remnants of whatever happened.
