was that he’d start off in a normal debate and once his stance would start to crumble he’d gradually shade his way into trolling, like a normal debate about Bush’s policy would gradually shift into him saying we should drop nukes on Washington or blow up public transportation systems. It was a sort of Andy Kaufman type thing where (even more so than with Kaufman) you couldn’t tell how serious he was or wasn’t. I guess it could be a way of venting anger, at dragging callow teens into debates that they would easily lose so he could shamelessly crow about it, but taking out your real-life political rage on a music-based board that had 25-30 regular posters or so…it was baffling.
