Some artists are best suited for albums, some are best for live performances, but no one is tailored for live albums. A lot of artists I love - eg Bjork - have different live arrangements which make it worth hearing the recordings, but tbh it’s almost never going to be better than a studio recording of that arrangement.

Stop Making Sense maybe the only document of a live performance that’s possibly better than seeing the performance itself?
