I didn’t know about Million Dollar Baby being hard to get made. I didn’t know Eastwood of all people had that kind of trouble–he cranked ‘em out!
Born To Run as you know was supposed to be “Bob Dylan writing, Phil Spector producing, Roy Orbison singing.” But I don’t hear very much Dylan! This isn’t the first time I’ve heard the Dylanish lyrics to “Blinded By The Light” get trashed.
De Niro has been good since 1997 in…I never saw Wag The Dog, and he had some hits, but I always hated Meet The Parents. He was good enough in The Irishman. Maybe Killers Of The Flower Moon if we want to be nice.
He appeared in good movies, but may not have given particularly noteworthy performances in a lot of them (he barely seemed to be trying in Silver Linings Playbook but that’s not a good movie.)
Tarantino only has one chance left before he supposedly retires. I hope he gets it right; I’m tired of sitting through a 2 hour 45 minute Tarantino film and only ending up liking two scenes from it, which has been most of the case since 2004.
