I’ve actually started weed again after 9 months off. I definitely feel like my mind and thoughts have completely different capacities when I’ve got weed as opposed to not. The break was definitely good for me though. Currently just sticking to vape pens.
Lover has plenty of good tracks but it’s such a squeaky clean record, almost too much so. Reputation on the other hand is friggin weird and kinda crazy (for Taylor anyway), the “hip hop” sound only extends to a handful of songs (which IMO might not be great but are still probably better than Bad Blood, the hip hop track from 1989). otherwise I think the album is pretty interesting, often for the wtf production choices (like the kind of insane backing track of “I did something bad”). some of her best deep cuts in the middle of the album, like Goregeous, Getaway Car, King Of My Heart, and Dress.
I agree folklore is dull, but it and it’s followup Evermore got probably the most critical praise of any of her albums. I never liked the National much so having the guy from the National produce isn’t going to thrill me much. I do enjoy the pair of records from time to time though, and I like the live performances which are a bit more direct sounding and less whispy.
