Silver Fox - There’s a bit on the Criterion two-disc DVD (still my gold standard for DVD packages) where Dazed And Confused’s prop guy says that they didn’t make Silver Fox beer anymore and he had to get online or something to find a picture of the label and print it off? The movie was filmed in 1992 when I wasn’t sure if you could do that then.

It’s in the DVD commentary track where Linklater relates the Schlitz anecdote. I think Linklater said that he said that because Schlitz turned him down, not the other way around. He said he got about “80 percent of what I wanted” with the film, and had to fight to keep them from getting shitty 1992 metal bands to record covers of 1970s hard rock hits to sell a soundtrack. He had to use a Top Notch burger joint that still existed in Texas because Sonic was going to charge him too much.
