Profit and Lace is a pretty bad episode anyway, isn’t it? I don’t remember it well.

What about the TNG episode (not movie) First Contact? I remember when I was in junior high, my friends and I all thought the “I’ve always wanted to make love to an alien” part was funny. That’s a strong contender for the bit in any Star Trek episode that would never happen now.

Do any of the new Star Trek shows have the Trill in them? With the contemporary fixation on pronouns, I wonder if they’d fix the fact that the Trill didn’t appear to have adequate pronouns. The should have a bunch of addition words that we don’t have.
I’ve hated the new Star Trek series’ that I’ve tried to watch.
