I’m getting old and bored and doing more rewatches than keeping up with new films. I don’t feel much excitement about going to see the big films everyone else sees just so I can engage in conversations about them and know what the fuck people are talking about. I wonder if I would like The Brutalist? Everyone here hated The Substance, or maybe that’s just you. Guess I could watch these Yorgos Lanthimos films everyone talks about.
What do people think is so great about that “endless series of hills” car chase in OBAA? What am I missing here? It’s repetitive and the ending is more dumb than funny.
What do people think is so great about the White Supremacist group in OBAA? That the guy who horribly played the villain in Ghost is in there? Why is it so funny that their greeting code is “Hi, Saint Nick”? I noticed Jason Segel’s dad from Freaks & Geeks in in there so there’s that. I guess the “DiCaprio can’t guess the code” bit was good for a chuckle, but only a chuckle.
Phantom Thread is a good little film, I liked it fine. What, did everyone run away from that one already?
