AC/DC live, as in I literally saw them live. It was a blast, and I’m gratefully to have gotten a (presumably last) chance after they temporarily fell apart 10 years ago.

Setlist (which has had some changes this tour, but been the same all this calendar year)

If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It) - I tried to avoid looking at the setlist before the show, but I did know this would be the opener. I wish it had been a surprise, because this is a cool choice for an opening song.

Back in Black - Played at every show ever.

Demon Fire - I didn’t care for the new (well, new in 2020) album but I was fine with this.

Shot Down in Flames - Great and non-obligitory choice

Thunderstruck - Played at every show ever, but it shouldn’t be because it’s the only song Angus doesn’t do well anymore (I’ve seen lots of other people say this too). Good thing this has become their most overplayed song so I didn’t mind as much when they fucked it up. Really the only blot on the concert. The effects on the video screen were funny though, because they put CGI lightning effects on the real time images of the band (really just Angus and Brian, the only two the video board payed any attention to) that looked like ’90s TV show special effects.

Have a Drink on Me - This show’s Back In Black deepcut.

Hells Bells - Played at every show ever.

Shot in the Dark - Not the Ozzy song, unfortunately. Also from Power Up, the 2020.

Stiff Upper Lip - It’s rare to hear a Brian-era song that isn’t from BiB, or one of the few others played every show, or from the new album.

Highway to Hell - Played every show ever.

Shoot to Thrill - Played every show ever. This has been my favorite from BiB for a long time. I was having a great time the entire concert, but from here on out it was really all magic. The bridge of this song wasn’t one of the louder moments, but I could really feel it in my chest even in the upper seats.

Sin City - Super excited to hear this one. Powerage might be my favorite of their albums.

Jailbreak - Even more excited to hear this! Probably the song I most wanted to hear.

Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap - Played at every show ever. This simplest of AC/DC riffs comes down like a sledgehammer at concert volume.

High Voltage - Surprisingly not played at every show ever, but it feels like it should be. I always thought of this as their theme song.

Riff Raff - Another Powerage song! I would have been pissed if I bought tickets to one of the concerts where Brian Johnson was replaced by Axl Rose, but I guess he gets credit for getting this back on the setlist for the first time since the ’70s.

You Shook Me All Night Long - Played at every show ever. I was sick of people wanting to sit through all my favorite non-hits, so I was glad they played another one for the plebs so they’d stand again.

Whole Lotta Rosie - Played at every show ever. They stopped using the giant inflatable Rosie, and just used an image on the video board. Perhaps this would have been disappointing, but I’d misunderstood what I read about that and though they’d stopped playing the song, so I was excited when it kicked in. Glad I could actually be surprised by one of the songs they never skip.

Let There Be Rock - Played at every show ever, and it deserves to be.

Encore:

TNT - Played at every show ever, so I knew it would be part of the encore.

For Those About to Rock - The final song of every show ever, with the cannons and everything.

I wish I’d seen them when Malcolm was still alive and they were still doing some of the theatrics that would give Brian a hernia now, but none of those tours had a setlist I think was this good. Also, back then The Jack was played at every show ever, and I don’t need to hear that. Also, the shows are a little longer now. If you cut the two Power Up songs and Thunderstruck it was still as long as a Black Ice Tour show, which would have had The Jack and a bunch of Black Ice songs I didn’t want to hear anywhere near as much as If You Want Blood, Sin City, and Jailbreak.

It was pretty fucking hot and humid. I don’t know how Angus didn’t pass out. He doesn’t run around the stage at the same speed he used to, but he’s still in amazing shape.
