So that rehiring didn’t last.
Anyway, I like most Rush albums generally, but Presto probably ranks pretty close to the bottom. Which is a shame cus there’s almost nothing embarassing or bad on it at all. The production is pretty good for it’s era too. But the I don’t think a single song from it would rank among my favorite Rush songs. Power Windows and Hold Your Fire might have some questionable production choices. but they have a ton of my fav songs the band ever did. Presto is just… decent and not much more. I will say that The Pass did end up being a pretty good track live, but it’s definitely a case where I’d rather hear the live versions over the studio cut.
I listened to all the original run of GBV albums and Isolation Drills didnt stick with me at all. I’ve kind of come to realize I only really need like 4 or 5 GBV albums from their classic era. with everything else I tend to find only one or two tracks per album that I end up wanting to hear again. Unlike some other super-prolific acts who I am a big fan of, I just haven’t found digging through their endless catalog to be all that rewarding.
I still think the only Tull album post 1980 I’ve heard in full is Broadsword and The Beast. and that one is fine but ehn. A lot of prog bands drove me to obsessive completism but even though Tull were one of the first prog bands I ever listened to they never pulled me in like that for some reason.
