I’ve been saying this for years and thinking it ever since fourth grade, when we were expected to think the Manifest Destiny was a bad thing: migrations happen, they’ve been happening ever since the dawn of Man. “No one is illegal on stolen land,” but who did they steal it from, in a highly disruptive and likely bloody series of events? I saw a Rasta page about how the Ungabunga people of Jamaica had been living there since some early century when the Europeans came and took Blackman to Babylon. Cool, but who lived there before them? Shouldn’t their genocide be just as pitied?
It’s like America can’t think more than one civilization back and has the idea that the Indians orderly moved onto the continent 70,000 years ago, went to their respective areas, and sat still in harmony until the Europeans came. There have been countless rapes, genocides, and all manner of atrocities in Africa and the Americas now lost to history. As they say: happy is the nation that has no history. And this is the “proper”, elite thing to believe! Good job, Harvard. Fight the bastards longer.
