It was really weird to find myself missing the keyboards, something that I thought Rush had really run their course on–remember that stupid snaky synth that shows up in that one song on Test For Echo? But I did.

Maybe I should listen to some live versions, kyeah.

I should also read Geddy’s bio, lots of people have recommended it! Prindle liked it. I knew about how the band was trying to recover from Neil’s tragedies but not much about the rest of it.

I prefer the first Move album to the subsequent three, but that one’s an outlier recorded in 1966 and not released for stupid reasons until 1968 by which point its time had totally passed. I may not do a relisten to Message From The Country, I’ve revisited its best songs quite a bit anyway.

I didn’t think I was going to like FTM much in this day and age, but I was expecting to like more of it than I did.

I mean, “Pigs” and “Echoes” are great songs, I’ve loved them forever, but some of the instrumental sections are definitely filler IMO.
