I’m glad you heard New Morning. I agree it is a really underrated album and one of my top favorite Dylan albums honestly. I love the heavy use of piano on here instead of acoustic guitar. I’m glad some people know “The Man In Me” from here at least but I also love Time Passes Slowly and Locusts. If Not For You - I like it best, better than George Harrisons version. Maybe one or two weaker songs but overall this is a really strong album that is barely talked about for some reason as far as classic Dylan albums go. Prindle didn’t like it at all for some reason.
It is really weird as far as Led Zep goes how underplayed Archilles is compared to other songs from throughout their career that are incredibly overplayed horribly to the point where I never feel like listening to them anymore. I always forget Archilles exists! I would expect classic rock radio to play the hell out of that one too but I never hear it. Even “All Of My Love” a far inferior song is played more. Its a good thing of course just weird is all.
Jimi Hendrix can be hit or miss for me in general but Angel is definitely one of my favorite songs of all time. Beautiful transcendent song I’ve always loved. I don’t remember much about the other songs on that but Drifting is also one I come back to.
Did you hear “Big Shot Chronicles” from Game Theory yet? Like I’ve said before, I really love that one but don’t care much about anything else I’ve heard from them. I could be wrong but I keep feeling like you would like this album because of some songs like “Like a girl Jesus” or “Erica’s word” that sound ahead of its time and has that catchy jangly beautiful melody infused 80s power pop sound that we both love. His voice, at least on there, reminds me heavily of Alex Chilton so I can see them being compared to Big Star.
