But I just cant muster up any enthusiasm for these movies. The first one felt like the target audience wasn’t more than 7 years old, and from the sounds of it the new one is even worse. If I had a kid to share the movie with then maybe it could be fun, but as an adult the first movie was kind of excruciating, and I have no desire to watch anything else in this series. It’s like a bunch of high-budget cut-scenes without a game around it, except actual mario game cut scenes are more entertaining than most of what was in the movie.
Sure it would be nice if these were actually good movies with plot and character development, emotional journey ect. But it’s pretty obvious that that is not their intention with this franchise and it never will be.
