Great album, has a couple kinda dumb songs but “Kingdom of Love,” “Tonight,” the title track, wonderful songs. The first 10 bonus tracks are pretty good but i never bothered with the disc of demos and additional stuff. They made an ok reunion album in the early 2000s, “Mr. Kennedy” (about touring with Sebadoh) and “Pulse of My Heart” are really nice.

I’m a big fan of Robyn Hitchcock’s solo work too, it’s not as immediately exciting as the Soft Boys but he’s an excellent songwriter who doesn’t always know which songs are worth keeping around. Element of Light is a lovely album, and check out the song “Goodnight Oslo” from the mid-2000s, Peter Buck was in his band then fyi.
