Agree that this stuff is just melancholia catnip, although I’m not sure if it’s more or less acute when you’re the type of person who still spends a lot of time in dingy rock clubs and bars around the world. It’s all a bit silly, but when you get the chance to see kids losing their minds to a punk band in Nairobi or to a math rock band on the streets of Skopje, it’s also difficult not to romanticize the “little snapshots of transient moments in youth culture” as you put it. Especially as everything switches to some digital platform hell in the US.
