I actually done a Mike Love discography listen a while back. although admittingly it was just a single listen and i don’t remember much. i note there is a 2023 Mike Love album Mike Love Not War (LOL) that i haven’t heard yet. my memory of Looking Back With Love is that it’s just bland/boring music rather than the entertainingly bad that i was hoping for

i think the highlight is probably the Mike Love cover of Abba On and On and On
not because it is actually a particularly good cover. In fact the 80’s production kinda suck and ruins the song. however i like the idea behind the cover amd the cyclical nature of Beach Boys inspiring Abba (likely Do It Again) and a member of The Beach Boys acknowleging people who were influence by them (similarly i like some of The Beach Boys bootleg of them doing a cover of The Beatles Back In The USSR even if the cover wasnt great)
