Those 33 1/3 books are generally awful

They let anyone who pitches an idea write whatever the hell they want with virtually no editorial oversight, and damn it shows. I read a compilation of excerpted chapters from various books in the series about 10 years ago and found at least half the entries to be borderline unreadable, except for the chapter on Jeff Buckley’s Grace, which was completely unreadable. I’m sure there might be a few decent books in the series but good luck sorting those from the chaff. Sheesh!
