After that Afghan guy killed the National Guardsman (almost certainly leftist political violence rather than Taliban-linked teerorism, or any Islamic terrorism at all, and it’s odd Pam Bondi or Jeannine Pirro haven’t suggested it, though they say he was radicalized in this country without any additional details as to background or ideology) Trump suspended visas for Afghans (a symbolic move since the people don’t have freedom of movement) and, more ominously, made noises about revoking refugee status and running a fine-toothed comb over immigration and green-card documents. Thankfully the administration is more bark than bite and the people here aren’t worried about it because (a) it would look terrible to displace refugees from their communities to send them back to certain death by the Taliban, given they got their immigration status as a reward for collaborating with the Americans, and (b) his squirrel brain will be distracted by something else soon enough (in this case, Somalia. In the recent cabinet meeting he napped through, he said, not in these exact words but surprisingly close, that Somalis are dirty people and we don’t want them in this country, not even bothering to distinguish citizens and non-citizens, not that it really matters).

What an embarrassment. Wake me when it’s over.
