Once you get into it it’s fucking great. It’s a clunky hybrid of Startropics and Dragon Warrior that doesn’t really work (the DW battles pop up randomly when you move from one screen to another and as bosses) but the ambitions only slightly outstrip the execution. I was thinking an indie studio could polish up the basic concept and create The Magic of the Rubiyat or something for mouse and keyboard. As I said, the execution is very early RPG from when the conventions were still loose, and it always kind of feels experimental.

But it’s a great game that fully lives up to the desire I had to play it back in the day. Thumbs up. I intend to finish it
