The main Elephant 6 guys, as Ken will be happy to tell you, were Bill Doss (dead), Will Cullen Hart (dead), Robert Schneider (left music entirely to be a mathematician) and Jeff Mangum (recluse). What does Kevin Barnes from Of Montreal have to do with the rest of them? I guess he’s still pretty prolific?
I thought American Head was passable but only really loved the very first song on the album. That’s Wayne’s brother Tommy on the album cover BTW, and there’s Wayne on stage talking about his death. Which reminds you in a way that Wayne is friggin’ 65. I didn’t think much of the song, but it’s possible that it could grow on me.
I could have done without Wayney boy’s little monologue there anyway, which sounded like rambling drug addled crap. Been hanging out with Miley Cyrus again?
