Actually, it’s been dead for a while. I still check out Mojo and Uncut from the library but only for the feature articles - I skip over the reviews and wouldn’t bother paying for any music mags that aren’t free. I haven’t bothered with Pitchfork in ages. Critics are little more than industry publicists at this point. It’s not just Rolling Stone giving automatic five star reviews to their beloved acts.
