In the ’90s 36 was still really old for someone having their two big hits (she also had that Supermodel song in Clueless), off of what was apparently her second album. The first one came out 5 years earlier in 1990.
I remember the guys in Metallica being considered old for rock stars when they were the same age. Cut Cobain would have been 36 in 2003.
