Listened to a bunch of various Beach Boys songs and albums of course in tribute to Brian Wilson. Played them out largely over the years but it was necessary and it was comforting listening to them and their sweet harmonies again. Albums mostly played were a few of their earlier albums (Surfin USA, Surfer Girl, All Summer Long) and of course also some of their underrated post-Pet Sounds material (Friends, Sunflower, Surfs Up). Brian Wilson’s debut solo album too.

Hampton Grease Band - Music To Eat (this silly jammy quirky as fuck record I’ve been really into on and off lately. It is so goofy and it has this random ass Beefheart/Zappa feel with some really obnoxious vocals, but I love how for a major label release they sound like they really did whatever the hell they felt like regardless of commercial appeal. They just sound like they are fucking around the whole time! It is so hilariously overlong for a debut too (double LP) and of course it was their last. It was the 2nd lowest selling record for Columbia Records besides a yoga LP lol. It is fun and I love the guitar work though)

Chrome - Half Machine Lip Moves

Gong - Flying Teapot

Penguin Cafe Orchestra - s/t

Tiger Trap - s/t
