One of the first CDs I ever bought was Queen’s the platinum collection, which is just a mini-boxset of their greatest hits volume 1 2 and 3. vol 3 was kinda pointless (though it has some highlights) but 1 and 2 pretty much give me all the queen songs I ever want to hear. it probably took me like 10 more years before i ever bothered to actually listen to some of their studio albums in full (and discover that outside of a few nice deep cuts i wasnt missing much). I do like their 80s hits a fair bit so I wouldn’t go as far as to say that just that original Greatest hits is all you need. I wouldnt want to do without volume 2.
