Feel free to try the 1982-85 Game Theory if you like, but I think you’re in for an inferior version of what you’ve already heard on BSC. Their first album, Blaze Of Glory which was almost impossible to get when it was released in 1982, is more New Wave than Big Star and by their brekaup Game Theory weren’t doing New Wave anymore. There’s also the matter of their big double concept album Lolita Nation which I found to be sort of a mess and which certainly never got a “cult” around it. Did you hear that one? They obviously intended it to be a big deal.

What are your favorite George Carlin standup specials? I posted something a few threads below about three of them that I had just watched but got no response from anybody. I think my negative reaction to him over the years had to do with the ugliness of his last two (even people at this board at the time said they found It’s Bad For Ya depressing to watch, so I wasn’t alone.) Rewatching Carlin On Campus and Jammin’ In New York I didn’t find myself bothered by much of it. I’ll probably try to get to his others later.

I should probably watch Florida Project before I give up on Sean Baker. It got great reviews obviously.
