I rarely hear Stick It Out anywhere, Animate is def the tune that gets the most play. I’ve never seen Cold Fire pointed to as one of the classics. It’s a good song, but probably would be a middle-ranking tune for me. I think this board might be the only place I’ve seen Nobody’s Hero referred to as one of the worst songs. I’ve always liking it fine, though I also heard the song as a kid not knowing what the heck “he was different in his sexuality” even meant. This was one of the Rush albums I heard the most growing up since it came out when I was a kid and Rush were my Dad’s fav band. Leave that thing Alone is one of Rush’s best instrumentals, and might actually be my pick for the best song on the album. I’ve certainly listened to it more often than any of the others.

since it’s like 70 minutes long, with EVERY SONG between 5 and 7 minutes long (seriously, go look!) and repetitive as hell

If that’s a lot for you… I don’t know what to do to brace you for the runtimes of the later Swans albums.
