I saw the new Final Destination last night. The formula is about as reliable as Mega Man but to their credit they tweaked it a little bit to make it a less pointless restart for the franchise. Call it Mega Man X. The lawnmower and MRI deaths are great. Of course it was a blast.

After not having listened to classical in years I’ve gone hardcore and that’s been it since I’ve been using ChatGPT to dig up liner notes and practically any aspect that you used to use liner notes for and much more. I bought $6 worth (24 LPs) of vinyl at a library sale. Bach cantatas, Schubert and Wolf songs, and a few others, I think all vocal.

I’ve started redigitizing the early LPs I did since I had a wonky phono preamp and had recorded them at too low a level with no noise reduction and the new ones sound a lot better. 24/96, too, instead of the standard-resolution old recordings. I might spin the Vietnam-era Bernstein recording of Haydn’s Mass in Time of War but I’ve gotten out of spinning stuff for occasions since I’m not listening to music all the time anymore. Last time I did it was when NĂ´tre-Dame burned – Machaut’s Messe de Nostre-Dame and an LP I had of 13th-century French hymns.
