You’re not going to find this terribly illuminating, but listening to this slightly reminded me of listening to the Japanese neo-prog band Kenso, who were instrumentally talented in a similar vein as Mr. Wong. Then again probably lots of bands are. Of course Mr. Wong is not heavy on keyboards in that video and Kenso are.

I thought during the first two tracks of the last video that they were using a Steely Dan-like electric piano tone…then they busted into “Reelin’ In The Years.” Did I call that or what bruh.

The rest of it sounded like strong fusion, not really my favorite genre but nice enough while it was playing. But I only listened twice. The drum solo at the 40 minute mark was pretty good yes.
