the entire purpose of the film and everything the Jackson estate does these days is to reestablish his image as they see fit now that the younger generations dont have fresh memories of the… controversies. Jackson is a money machine and depicting an actually accurate portrayal of his life would not be the advertisement for the Michael Jackson image that they want to propagate. Even back when they were releasing posthumous albums, there were controversies about faked vocals and things, Jackson’s team will do anything to make Michael seen “perfect” to those who dont want to smell something fishy going on.
