Which I’ve needed to do for a couple years. I need to open up the computer to put in a new 128GB SSD just for a fresh copy of Windows and apps (should be about 60GB for Windows and 10? for apps), then format my C drive and clone the fresh install to it. That way if something Very Bad happens to the C drive the backup will kick in with no problem. Obviously I’m very much in the “perfecting functionality” stage of my PC. This SSD and replacing a busted fan are the last two cherries on top.
I’ll want a bigger hard drive for a backup – 32TB would hold everything, including the 10TB of wrestling videos I’ve downloaded. I only have a 26TB HDD now and have to spread the redundant/backup copy across two drives.
I never beat FF Tactics in the ’90s, either, but I got a lot further in. I think I’m just Japaned out for right now – after Avernum I might try again because that game wasn’t cheap.
I’m leaning towards Avernum 3 simply because I just finished a JRPG. It might be coming down to Japan fatigue. On my bucket list are Ultima V-onward, Baldur’s Gate 3, and of course, all the Spiderweb RPGs, starting with Avernum 3. By the time I make it to Avernum 6 the remake should have been released.
