I wouldnt disagree with most of those about that specific album. Yeah big points for listenability, they have so many catchy tunes. And yeah nobody is truly original anymore but they very much have their own voice as a band that you can easily identify no matter what weird genre they’re tackling.

The interesting thing about them with diversity is that overall they deserve at least a 4/5 in the category, but very few of their individual albums would earn more than an 2/5 since kinda their whole gimmick is that majority of their albums focus in on one specific sound and just do that for the entire runtime. Nonagon exemplifies this perhaps the most of all their albums since it’s also the record where they purposely blur the lines between all the songs as much as possible. The whole album could have easily been tracked as one 40 minute song. I would agree on Mr Beat being the weakest track on the album, but it is good for the pacing of the record so that it isnt just relentless psych-rock the entire runtime. they are for sure a good band to listen to while high, no argument there.

Yeah the acoustic album would be a good one to try next. Thats the one I was introduced to them with. I’d agree that resonance is one of their weaker points overall. Not too many gizz tracks I could shed tears too, but they do have plenty of furious fist pumpin’ tracks throughout their discog IMO, especially on their more recent records. Their vocals are also an aspect that would improve a lot as they went. Nowadays I can instantly tell who is singing what but on their early records they kind of all sound like the same guy.
