Speaking of the DC area and black people, there’s a new CBS soap opera, the first new daytime soap in 26 years, called Beyond the Gates. CBS now has three of the four soaps on television (Days of Our Lives is on Peacock now. General Hospital is on ABC, and CBS has The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, and now Gates). I hope it takes off and revives the genre. Only problem is that there are now 2 1/2 hours of television to watch daily and that’s a lot. They went all-out in promoting the show, too Not many people can watch the first episode of the first season of a soap, but that was this afternoon.

Slacks, scrubs, and long skirts are my alliterative clothing fetishes (fuck French maids). I mention this because there’s a cute white girl in the soap (I’ve got it playing right now) who’s starting her first day as a nurse.

Don’t sleep on cream soda with orange soda, preferably not Fanta (many of Coca-Cola’s products are too bold/forward for me – Starry is the best lemon-lime because it’s squarely between Sprite and 7-11 in intensity). Faygo had a soda called Dreamsicle that was an orange-cream flavor, but my grocery store has stopped carrying the brand. Walmart sells an orange-cream flavored sparkling water if you’re not phenylketonuric or a conspiracy theorist. Or if you drink fizzy drinks ptimarily for the energy and drink only water with meals because you’re getting enough calories already.
