The original greatest hits from 1970 already had 6 of its 8 songs on it, and now the two disc Essential has all but the lengthy jam “Sex Machine”. I listened through the first disc on Spotify last night - I really do need to listen to those early albums, though, which only constitute tracks 1-8. Most of Riot is on here, too, but that was more than just a collection of singles (which Stand! sounds like), it needs to be heard as a concept album even if there’s no concept beyond Sly being really, really stoned in the studio.
