What's your favorite Bellow novel?

I agree with the writer that Mr. Sammler’s Planet is his best in part because it’s the most visceral. And mid-century “race issues” themes are always going to be inherently interesting snapshots of their time and place. If you can you should track down Martin Amis’ long piece where he interviews some of Saul’s old friends, entitled Saul Bellow in Chicago (it’s collected in The Moronic Inferno). (Overall I find Amis a much better essayist than novelist, most of which has left me nonplussed with the exception of Money. )
