It’s hard to image what impact The Black Crowes could have had other than to inspire other people to be comparably retro, or else just being someone’s first favorite band and inspiring them to pick up a guitar, or something like that. I don’t know how well remembered their albums are as a whole, but the first two were the popular ones.

Thinking about the first Black Crowes album reminds me that Chuck Leavell, who should have been inducted as a member of The Allman Brothers but wasn’t, deserves a Musical Excellence Award.
