Sing to god is a lot to take in all at once, and there are a decent number of tracks that still havent clicked for me. but the ones that have rule pretty hard. I tend to find I reach for Guns more often as far as the later Cardiacs albums go, but that could just because that one is a bit more mellow. Curious to hear what you think when you get to the reunion album, it’s actually really acessible for them imo.

Relistened to Incantations, yeah i really love this one. It really feels like a fully fledged composer wrote this. Sections that evoke stravinsky, steve reich and modern composers like them, and it develops themes and ideas though the whole piece really nicely so it doesnt just sound like a long medley of ideas but makes sense as one long song more than his other albums.
Then after it ends you get one of the most jarring moments ever when bonus track “Guilty” comes on and reworks one of the albums themes into a disco jam.
