I love the Soul Rebels/ Soul Revolution/The Best Of The Wailers era, and actually got into it before the later albums because I picked up a comp of the earlier stuff, not really knowing anything about the landscape of his career.

I’ve been playing the 21st century Robert Plant solo albums. I’ve heard them before but hadn’t really spent much time with them. I think that the early 2000s was really when he came into his own as a solo artist. The Page & Plant tour with the African backing band seems to have helped him find where he wanted to take his solo career. The first two albums, Dreamland and Mighty ReArranger, are my favorites right now. He turned out to be one of the more gracefully aged rock stars of that generation.
