A bit of a mixed bag with great tunes and some more fillery bits, but that was also the case for their other two albums. it hits all the right spots you’d want from a E6 psych-pop record. There are a lot of psychedlic bands out there currently but their particular style of it isn’t something I’ve heard too much from other artists lately so nice to hear it again.

New Lips song is nice, we’ll see if it has staying power. Not having Drozd is a big change, but the last several Lips albums were a bit lackluster anyway so maybe it was the case of Wayne feeling like Drozd wasn’t working on the level he used to. Drozd wasn’t on Preist Driven Ambulance or Hit To Death and those are both as fully Lips albums as what came after. So it’s possible that Wayne can make a good album without him. Drozd is working on a solo album from what I heard, so maybe if we’re lucky we get great albums from both artists. (I’d still put money on the Drozd album being better than the Lips album tho)
