I previously shown him the 1986 Anime film and the 2023 movie and he loves both of those movie.

However this movie despite my attempts to say, this is Mario, this is Luigi, this is Bowser, this is Yoshi, this is Daisy, This is a goomba
It doesn’t seem to register to him and I don’t even think he believes me. He became distracted and plays other toys while the movie is playing in the background. Only 3/4 into the film when Mario and Luigi got into the red and green jumpsuit does my son actually register that this is actually Mario and Luigi

It’s a pretty horrible movie but I like two elements of the movie
The first is the implication of Lena as I wrote in the opening post.
I did chuckle with the Mario Mario and Luigi Mario joke. I mean Mario Bros. does seem to disrespect Luigi if Mario wasn’t the last name. Even Shigeru Miyamoto adopted this movie and used this as an answer to what Mario’s last name
