I can name a half-dozen Foreigner megahits off the top of my head: “Feels Like the First Time”, “Cold as Ice”, “Waiting for a Girl Like You”, “I Want to Know What Love Is”, “Double Vision”, “Juke Box Hero”. Bad Company had, what, the only good song they ever did, their s/t song, and a Mott the Hoople song? And there’s not the stylistic variety you see across Foreigner’s hits. You could say they’re a less listenable REO Speedwagon, all of whose big hits I’ve heard sound exactly the same (“Take It on the Run”, “Can’t Fight This Feeling”, “Keep on Loving You” – what other hits did they have?)

TL;DR Foreigner were a legit good band and even if you don’t like their music, they’re objectively a level above generic late ’70s radio rock.
