Sorry that you got so sick, but you really can’t leave meat out like that.

I honestly don’t remember the answer to these in-game questions. I remembered the early part better because I played through the Exile demo a bunch of times. Other than that, I played through all of Exile III in 2005 and played through Avernum III in 2018. Spidweb.com has message boards, you can ask there if you can’t find stuff in a guide.

This

I looked up how to get the boat and I never would have found it – you have to sleep at the second inn and a nephil will be at the bar in the morning. This is even harder to find because Gale for some reason acts as a friendly town that heals and revives characters when you enter. I cleared out the Isle of Maddok and went north to Tevrono. The loot is too good to sell.

sounds surprisingly obtuse for an Avernum game. I wonder if it was an error on Jeff Vogel’s part, or if there was some sort of in-game hint that you missed.

I found the skribbane den and the keeper wants 5000 coins for the library key. Is it worth it? Remember, I’m with the Anama.

I would just save, try it, and then revert to your save if it’s a bunch of mage books you can’t use or something.

Avernum II was the one I stayed up all night playing when I beat it the first time.

Have you ever played Baldur’s Gate? I bought that last weekend when it was on sale. I started a game but haven’t spent much time with it. I was disappointed that the combat is real time with a party, that seems confusing, hopefully I’ll get used to it.
