The Syndicats - Crawdaddy Simone?si=VtgOO1j_L6jDdK8w
The best track from Nuggets 2. Starts like dull blues but Jesus Christ it gets good after the first verse. Total freakout while staying grounded.
Patrick Hernandez - Born to Be Alive?si=6czwc_lkdhekMMwq
The greatest video on all YouTube. Killer song, too – the official video with multiple hims dancing rocks my world, too, but it’s the 7”.
Soft Cell - Memorabilia?si=6APH8r6bQagGpDk9
I posted the extended version a few days ago but even the 7” packs the dance floor. Creepy lyrics though.
The Four Seasons - The Night?si=vyBwU_Ebv_lTYOAe
I posted the Soft Cell version in that post but this is the original, which is even better (thanks Frankie). I don’t like the word “season” or any variation thereof (seasons, seasoning – it’s aesthetically unpleasant) so the band kind of turns me off.
Operation Ivy - Jaded?si=cD0SVUJ4Pn9n4ng6
Nothing much to say. I loved this CD (their album, EPs, singles, and unrelased tracks) in seventh grade.
Glen Campbell - Rhinestone Cowboy?si=-u5jSppTdH_94lbv
Best known nowadays from the movie High School High. This was “our song” 15 years ago (she’s dead now).
Debbie Harry - Rush Rush?si=OzpoVXMvCWTim7nz
There’s an awesome/terrible Happy Mondays cover on their 2007 album Uncle Dysfunktional. I need to properly get into Morodor because I love everything he touches
