I meant Bigail. Sorry. I have a hard time remembering the names of places in games like this, especially when so little distinguishes too many of the towns and cities. I assume the towns that get destroyed are just the wayside-inn-plus-mute-peasants ones, right? I’ve badly neglected the slime situation in the western part of Krizsan Province by exploring so far east I ended up in Golddale and thr Valley of yhe Ursagi. I’ve cleared the mine and will try to finish off this miniquest tonight. I tried storming it earlier but I had the sense I was maybe two levels too low, which now is reduced to one. Random encounters then Lair of the Ursagi tonight.
I like how not all cities and towns refill your HP and the inn system actually is useful for something where you could have need of an inn when you topped off just walking into town. Also, with scroll-making, the papyri you’ve been finding throughout two games actually have a use. It’s like he put in the apparatus for things before he had the time to perfect them. I never had need of potions when I played 1 & 2 so I don’t know if the alchemist’s shops existed. I was totally overlooking a major part of the gane. I know healing, spiritual, and energetic herbs are in the games so I guess potion-making is, too.
Thanks for the information about the Anama. Im anticipation of joining them to get all the benefits, and with further de facto/ad hoc developments, I’ve decided to convert my mage into a priest and my priest into a ranger. My mage will soon be useless and my mage already has 13 intelligence (as well as sadly useless mage spell skill – I keep my weapons skills in my fighters equal to strength and in magic users, spell akill to intelligence – and the priest-turned-ranger has white magic (as a ranger) and the higher ranged weapons skill of the once-pair-of-magic+users.
I use mage magic so little that I’d rather have the perks of Anama membership and stay on their good side, too. If I’m sacrificing Stoneshatter and Dispel Barrier, it’s a harder sell, but those seem to be more optional in this game and piercing crystals are more plentiful.
- Human warrior (heavy armor, high strength and endurance with two levels of priest spells)
- Slith poleman (light armor, balanced strength, dexterity, and endurance)
- Human ranger (bows, 13 intelligence and priest spells, about to concentrate on strength and dexterity)
- Nephil priest (bows, with 13 intelligence about to start focusing on priest spells. Because I’ve wasted 13 skill points in level-ups, he will forever be subpar offensively
