You should get to those. They’re aimed at a YA audience so they’re easier to read than TLHOD and very enjoyable high fantasy. Written as a Taoist parable (Guin was one and said so herself). It’s an excellent trilogy - there’s a fourth one she wrote about two decades later that centers around child abuse that isn’t nearly as good.
I agree, I disliked The World is a Forest as well. I found it too preachy and the political allegory of colonialism too hamfisted.
