That dead show is the final show of the Europe 72 tour, one of their most famous shows of that era. Large portions of it are the same takes that were released on the Europe 72 album.
The Pacific Northwest set is tremendous.
The Dead strike me as the exact kind of band that Trung would utterly fail to get because they don’t fill his arbitrary criteria of what music should be. Half-hour improvisations? Groove-based music? eww gross.
If I were to recommend a Dead show to Trung I would suggest One From The Vault (August 13, 1975). It’s a much tighter show than usual.
